The 2013 Chevy Camaro 2SS Coupe Gets Your Motor Running
If you’re going to run a half-marathon that’s not in your hometown, you might as well drive something fast to inspire you in your race, like a 2013 Chevy Camaro 2SS Coupe.
That’s what I did recently when heading to Florida for Disney’s Princess ½ Marathon.
The Camaro SS is anything but a typical mom car, and I have to say, I believe the power from this sportster inspired me to put a little more kick in my step as I ran the 13.1 miles required for my run.
This car has some serious giddy-up and go under the hood with a 6.2L, V8 SFI engine.
With that kind of power, I was pretty sure I’d end up with a speeding ticket before the drive was done, so I really loved the special feature that reminded me just how fast I was driving by showing the speed on the windshield. I could control where it appeared so that it wasn’t distracting, and could make it bright or make it go away altogether.
My model had a six speed manual transmission with power steering, electric assist and Brembo performance brakes. Standard features include Stabilitrack stability control and traction control, anti lock brake system, 4 wheel disc, airbags for driver and passenger, along with side impact airbags and side head curtain.
There’s also battery rundown protection, theft deterrent system, rear vision camera and six months of Onstar service.
I drove an ‘inferno orange metallic’ model with inferno orange interior and let me tell you, it was HOT! In a good way. The 20” painted aluminum wheels and rear spoiler rocked.
The car offered a comfortable ride—for two. Try to fit some adults in the back and you’re going to need to be sure it’s not a long trip. But again, I already said this is not a mom car, at least not when mom is toting the kids around to their activities.
I personally loved being able to plug my iPhone into the USB jack to charge it and having my music automatically play on the premium audio system.
I also thought the antenna was pretty cool. It’s a fin on the back. Yep, like a shark’s fin. It’s a little thing, but with me, it’s always the little things that win me over.
Other important facts:
The starting MSRP for the LS is $23,530. LT is $24,730 and SS is $31,795.
