Back to School with @Macy’s: You’re Invited

It took more than an hour for my daughter to pick out her outfit for the first day of school this year. An hour!
That didn’t happen last year and I can tell you why.
That’s because we made a point of taking a trip to Macy’s while we were in New York City…we were determined to buy a back-to-school outfit and found a fabulous dress…of course, this happened after we found a spectacular pair of shoes.
Did I mention my daughter is only 10?
I was never this fashionista when I was her age, but I have to give the kid credit. She looked good.
We didn’t make that trip to Macy’s this year and I can tell you, it was a big mistake. Instead of having an incredible outfit ready to go, we had assorted shirts, shorts and skirts that took more than an hour to sift through and decide that she still had nothing to wear.
That wouldn’t have happened if I had made the Macy’s trip again.
I already know they have amazing outfits because I got a sneak peek at a few while on a press trip to NYC a few weeks ago. I was at the Blogger Bash event and, as part of that event, was invited to Kids Headquarters, the company behind the children’s clothing line for several brands, including Nautica and Tommy Hilfiger, both of which have a children’s back to school line with some fabulous fashions! They showed off the cool new looks in their showroom during our visit.
I know the Nautica look is all me…very preppy and exactly the kind of outfit I would have worn as a kid. Heck, who am I kidding? I’d still wear these clothes if they came in my sizes.
But the Tommy Hilfiger line…it fits my daughter to a T. Seriously. This look is her look. She’d own it all if I’d let her.
Which means I’ll need to take a trip to Macy’s soon. And lucky for me, there’s a perfect excuse to get to the Macy’s in my town soon, and odds are, in yours, too.
Macy’s stores around the country are hosting family fun days in the next few weeks that should be fun for your little ones.
There will be crafts and activities, including Disney Princess and Star Wars coloring books and the chance to make your own Princess crown. You can even pose for a picture in our Disney Princess and Star Wars-themed photo booths.
You can buy a backpack at the store and get it personalized by a custom artist (time permitting in select locations) while also checking out the coolest looks for school and play. There will also be refreshments courtesy of Drazil Tea, Little Me Tea, and snacks of courtesy of Deep River Snacks and Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps!
