Callaway Gardens Festival in Lights
As the holiday season kicks into full swing you can bet the lights are twinkling brighter than ever at Callaway Gardens. The Festival in Lights has become an annual tradition for many families who treasure their time away from the craziness of Christmas and escape to Callaway Gardens to reconnect with nature and each other. My family was invited to spend the night at Callaway Gardens recently, taking a trolley through the Festival in Lights display and stay in one of the quaint cottages sprinkled around the property. It was our first trip to the resort area, but it won’t be our last. If you want to plan a visit, be sure to check out the specials for Festival of Lights. These are some other tips we think will help:
–Buy your tickets in advance (you’ll save a few bucks each that you can then use to buy something cool in the holiday store)
–Bring a blanket for the trolley (you might not be cold standing in line waiting for the trolley but the wind might get you on the ride)
–Plan extra time to shop after the ride (the holiday store has some really wonderful items that you won’t find anywhere else)
–If you can stay overnight, definitely do. From ziplines to bike trails to art exhibits, there’s something for everyone willing to take a moment to appreciate nature and the beautiful views around the Gardens.
Until you can get there, check out the video from my favorite section of the Lights, the snowflake land.
