The Disney Countdown Calendar
Most people know Disney is a very special place—the kind of place that when you have a visit scheduled you mark on the calendar and then count down the days until you get to finally go make magical memories!
Last year, when I found out my family was going to be part of the Disney Social Media Moms week, it was before Christmas, so the kids were each given something small with Mickey ears on them—a pair of socks, or pajama pants—something simple to unwrap all at once on Christmas morning.
They didn’t really get the big thrill in a new pair of PJs or socks until we let them know where they’d be wearing the new gear!
Honestly, the then-five-year-old was most excited (and least patient), so we created a special calendar for her. We took some old Disney maps and stickers and put them on a calendar, counting down the days until we’d get there. It was fun to talk about the different things on the calendar each day and it helped her know just how much longer she’d have to wait.
We’re already working on the calendar for this year’s trip in April. Late April. It’s way too far away for her (and me).
We’ll be counting down with weekly articles this time. I’ll have the kids help me write them so that you can get their perspective, too! Meantime, feel free to comment below and let me know how you tell your kids they’re going to Disney!

I still haven’t told my daughter 🙂 I think I’ll wait till after my parents visit in 2 weeks since all I get now is “when are Babcia and Dziadzia coming?” (that’s Polish for grandma and grandpa)

It’s too far away for me too. Have to get through the whole winter first, come on spring!

Love your idea of making your own Disney calendar. We also have a ton of Disney stickers so I might just do that 😉 Once I decide whether I’m going to tell them or make it a surprise, that is! Thanks for linking up 🙂
