The Hunger Games Mall Tour Stops in Atlanta
Get ready for The Hunger Games fever to hit an all time high as the movie sets to open March 23rd. In the meantime, the cast is touring the country, building up the hype as fans get up close and personal with the actors. I was lucky enough to interview several of them on the red carpet during their recent visit to Atlanta. They had just wrapped up the Los Angeles tour. They still have visits planned to Seattle, Phoenix, Dallas, Miami, Chicago, and Minneapolis. If you are close enough to make it to the event, try to be there. It’s incredible to get to see the real personalities behind these talented actors. The mall tour in Atlanta included cast members Liam Hemsworth (Gale), Leven Rambin (Glimmer), Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh), Amandla Stenberg (Rue) and Jack Quaid (Marvel).
If you haven’t heard much about The Hunger Games, don’t worry. You can catch up fast. Here’s the plot, word for word from the PR folks: “Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in The Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.” It’s the relationships they share and the pivotal role of Katniss that makes the trilogy so addictive.
More info from the press: THE HUNGER GAMES (Lionsgate) is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 23.5 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following.
THE HUNGER GAMES opens nationwide on March 23, 2012
I’ll be posting all kinds of information from the Atlanta visit in the coming weeks. The first segment is below and asks the actors what their favorite books/movies are. The answers are very insightful.

Are there any cast members that don’t look like supermodels? I’m thinking probably not. My goodness.

I keep hearing about this and feel totally clueless because I had never heard about The Hunger Games before the movie. Guess I need to check it out…you know…so I can stay current and hip to what’s going on in Atlanta! Lol!

Trust me…I hadn’t heard about it, either, and I have three teens. I had to catch up fast, though, which was easy enough knowing I got to interview the actors. Now I plan to read the book.
