King and Prince Golf Course Listed as #5 with Golf Digest Magazine
If you could pick one place to go golfing with your buddies, where would that be?
I’d want a place that offers challenging holes while also providing natural beauty.
The King and Prince Golf Course comes to mind first. It’s stunning, offering all kinds of wildlife (gators included!) while you’re playing a round.
And it turns out I’m not alone in thinking that. The January 2013 issue of Golf Digest Magazine features the King and Prince Golf Course as one of its 36 Best Buddies-Trip Destinations. It’s #5 in fact!
The list was compiled by surveying Golf Digest panelists (about 1,100 avid golfers) who produce their biennial ranking of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses. They scored buddies-trip destinations that they visited on a scale of 1-10.
The King and Prince Golf Course is located at the northern end of St. Simons Island and is peppered with ancient oaks and salt marshes.
And check out how cool this is: you can see the Course online with a 3-D graphic that takes you to each of 18 holes via a hole-by-hole flyover.
The course is incredible, just like the rest of the resort.
(Reader note: I got to visit the course while on a media trip to the King and Prince resort. It was my first time on a driving range in a good while and I was happy to find I could still really hit the ball–even in my flip flops! I believe it’s required you wear actual golf shoes if you’re playing a round. This course deserves that.)
