Put Me On Broadway–Mamma Mia! Hits the Stage
We all love the music of Mamma Mia!, and the movie for that matter, but getting to see the musical in person at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta is just over the top. IT WAS PHENOMENAL! I’m no professional critic, I admit, but I am your average Jane when it comes to entertainment and I know what my friends would enjoy. They would love this show! I was invited by Broadway Across America to see Mamma Mia! and caught the performance last night with my two daughters. We loved it. All three of us! It took everything I had to stay in my seat while they were dancing up on stage…I wanted so much to get up there and dance with them. The performers were top knotch, with Kaye Tuckerman as Donna, the mom, and Chloe Tucker as Sophie, the bride-to-be. My favorite, though, was Mary Callanan who performed the role of Rosie. She stole the show with her performance during “Take a Chance on Me”. And Alison Ewing cracked me up with her rendition of “Does Your Mother Know”. You can’t help but sing along (my apologies to the people in front of me, I really was trying to be quiet). I’m considering going back this weekend with my boys so they can learn to appreciate musicals, too. This is the one that can do it! If you have the chance, make sure you don’t miss the show while it’s in town. It’s only here through Sunday, so hurry. Prices start at $33. Tickets can be purchased through authorized ticket sellers at The Fox Theatre Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 1-800-982-2787. Orders for groups of 15 or more may be placed by calling 404-881-2000.
(Special note to readers: I would have loved to have included photos of the performance, or my daughters’ faces enjoying the musical, but there’s a strict ban against photography at The Fox. My apologies.)

I really love the movie and loved seeing the play as well. Although there were some serious sound issues at this show, I was still singing along the entire time!!
