Memphis the Musical and Appreciating Atlanta’s Fox Theatre

One of my favorite parts about living in Atlanta is the Fox Theatre and the chance to catch amazing performances all year.

Next week I’m going to see the Tony Award Winning musical Memphis and I’m bringing my oldest child, my 17 year old son.

Memphis is playing in Atlanta from January 31^st through February 5^th.  It’s an original story about “a cultural revolution that erupted when a young white DJ fell in love with rock and roll and an electrifying black singer”.  I hear the show is amazing.

I can’t wait.  I can’t wait to watch the performance, but I also can’t wait to share this experience with my son who has a passion for music, yet has never seen a musical.

We’re lucky in Atlanta to have these options.  I grew up in a tiny town that rarely offered this kind of entertainment.  Maybe that’s why I have such a great appreciation for it all.  Do you take advantage of all Atlanta has to offer?  When is the last time you made it down to the Fox?
