Jake and the Neverland Pirates

A fellow named Jake has taken over my house in the past year— a pirate of the purest form, stealing my daughter’s heart and making a date with her every morning at 8:30 on the weekends (it’s on every morning but that’s when we can watch). Now, he’s moved to the big time, reserving an appointment with her on a weeknight!  The nerve of this Jake fellow and his band of buddies, you know?  Lucky thing he’s so cute.  And super fortunate that his pals Izzy, Cubby and Skully are also good-hearted.

Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns,” a special movie, premiers Monday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m., ET/PT on Disney Channel. Yep, my daughter will be glued to the set to watch.

We got the chance to meet Jake last year at Disney during the launch of Disney Junior, along with Captain Hook, who got a real kick out of our new iPad 2 that allowed him to see himself in the video and to twirl his mustache.

DisneyJunior ihas been around a bit more than a year and it’s definitely the preferred channel in our house now for our youngest.  But I can relate.  I remember, as a little girl, watching the Mickey Mouse Club.  Who didn’t grow up singing “M-I-C, see ya’ real soon”?  When DisneyJunior was created last year we were lucky enough to meet one of the executives behind it, Nancy Kanter.  Here’s a quick clip of our interview.
