A Carpet Makeover–The Hoover MaxExtract60 Carpet Cleaner Review
You know how crazy my life is…and I’m embarrassed to say my house reflects that. A dog, a cat, a husband, four kids, and countless friends coming and going, visiting my four kids…they all add up to one big mess, especially on my carpet. Of course, when something is spilled or a stain appears, only one person is to blame–‘Not Me’. That ‘Not Me’ guy owes me a new carpet. But until he steps forward to pay up, the Hoover MaxExtract60 Carpet Cleaner has become my new best friend.
Just check out my before and after photos of one of my least favorite stains that has been staring at me for far too long…something resembling red Gatorade and I’m-not-sure-what-else.
We didn’t use any special treatment on the stain before whipping out the new Hoover MaxExtract60. We simply went over the spot a few times and saw an immediate improvement. In fact, the entire living room showed an improvement after 10 minutes with the Max Extract. I think it almost looks white again (and yes, I know how ridiculous it was to choose this color carpet with my family now, but back when we picked it I thought it was pretty).
I’ve used carpet cleaners before, but they were heavier and bulkier than the Hoover. I will say it seemed like I had to go over spots more times with this machine than those in the past, but it could be because I didn’t pre-treat those spots at all, or switch to the scrubbing brush attachment.
It was a cinch to put together out of the box and the cartridges explained easily where the cleaner goes, where the water goes and where the dirty water ends up. Yeah, that’s gross, but good to know just how dirty things were (and how much I’ll be using this carpet cleaner in the future). You know darn well that ‘Not Me’ will leave me with a new stain soon.
Here’s a video of the carpet cleaner in action.
