Day of Service to Commemorate 50th Anniversary of Civil Rights Movement
This year, the nation commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement, and what better way to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., than with a day of service to help others?
In Atlanta, a network of partners will mobilize more than 3,000 volunteers in service to local communities, schools and nonprofits on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day.
The MLK Day of Service is organized in partnership with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center of Nonviolent Social Change Inc. and Hands on Atlanta.
More than 100 opportunities are available in support areas ranging from poverty alleviation to veterans’ service to beautification of civil rights historic sites.
