Flashdance Musical Scheduled for Atlanta’s Fox Theatre
This is going to age me, but I can remember when Flashdance first hit movie theaters decades ago. I became an instant fan, complete with my own off-the-shoulder sweatshirt and second skin jeans, so the fact that the story is now going to be performed on stage at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre has me absolutely giddy.
I. can’t. wait.
In case you missed the hit all those years ago, here’s the story: a working-class girl with a dream of becoming a professional dancer pulls double duty, working in a steel mill by day and a bar dancer at night, hoping to be accepted at a prestigious ballet academy.
Throw in a love story and some rockin’ music (‘Flashdance-What a Feeling’, ‘Gloria’, ‘Maniac’, ‘I Love Rock & Roll’) and you have one huge hit.
Flashdance, the Broadway musical, is only going to be showing in Atlanta from February 5-10th. You can get tickets by clicking here or by calling 855-ATL-TIXX.
I’ll see you there on opening night!
(Note to readers: I will be receiving two free tickets to attend Opening Night. I am not required to write about this event and am not being otherwise compensated. I’m just really excited to attend!)
