The Super Bowl, Commercials, Sex and Mercedes-Benz

We all know what a big deal the commercials are during the Super Bowl game, and Mercedes is having some fun releasing bits and pieces of its commercial already.

First, a few days ago we saw a clue of what’s to come with some video of a diner in New Orleans, host city for the big game, which just so happens to be set in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.  So, yeah, they kind of have their hand in the game in a big way.

But back to the commercials.

They’re giving us what’s known as a tease of the entire ad that will air February 3^rd, during the game.  And in the latest clip released, the tease is a tease.  This one went viral fast. That could be because of model Kate Upton’s role in the spot.  She doesn’t say much, yet, her actions scream a message loud and clear.

She’s sexy, and so is the car she shares the commercial with.

Lots of folks are up in arms over the ad, and I suppose as a woman maybe I should be insulted, but I’m not.  Hate to be sexist here, but it’s mostly men who are watching the big game.  Of course the car maker is going to be targeting that demo in their spot.  And I know I’d love to see a shirtless Gerard Butler sprawled out across the top of the hot hood.  I hate to be a hypocrite.

As far as I know, there’s no sign of Gerard in the spot for the Super Bowl, but I have seen pictures of the behind the scenes filming of the entire ad.  And I see Usher is involved.  I’d say he makes a really good back up to my guy Gerard.  Those dimples.  Those moves. What he does with those hips.  Yeah, Usher will do.  What he’ll be doing I don’t really know (in the ad, ladies…what he’d be doing in my imagination is crystal clear, but not appropriate to share).

Maybe we can hope his top will be coming off in the spot we see Super Bowl night.  And it’ll be ok if he’s sitting in a sexy new Mercedes, too.
