Orchid Daze at Atlanta Botanical Gardens–A Must See
I’m ashamed to admit this, but I’ve lived here for 12 years now and only last weekend finally visited the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
When I lived in Norfolk, VA, I used to walk through the Botanical Gardens almost daily the first few weeks that I lived there. I loved the peace, quiet, and beauty of it all.
I can’t believe I let it go so long without making time for this trip in Atlanta, but I’m so glad I finally went.
It’s not even the ideal time of year for blooms, but the annual Orchid Daze event is underway and that’s something that hits close to home for me.
My father grew orchids. If you know anything about flowers, you know orchids are some of the most difficult to keep alive. But my dad was an expert. I am not. So, I have a true appreciation for each and every bud.
I certainly got an eyeful on this trip.
If you can get by to see Orchid Daze soon, it’s definitely worth it.
I’m posting just a few of the pictures I took while on this trip below.
(Reader note: I was provided free tickets to the Gardens during a press meeting hosted by Discover Atlanta, connecting local media to area highlights. My opinion, as always, remains my own.)
