Parade Laps at Barber Motorsports Track with Mercedes Benz
I spent last weekend with some serious car fans, and not just any car fans, these are all Mercedes owners.
They live and breathe the brand and gather at an annual event known as Star Tech (technically, it’s every other year, rotating with Star Fest, paying tribute to the star of the Mercedes Benz). I’ll tell you all about that later.
Part of this year’s festivities included a couple laps around the track at the Barber Motorsports Track near Birmingham, Alabama, (not far from the famed Talladega race track so many NASCAR fans adore).
I got to join them in a GL350 that was sent for me to review on a drive from Atlanta to Tuscaloosa and back.
I didn’t get to put the car to the test on this track in the way that I would have liked (read FAST!), but I did have a blast with my riding companion, PR gal Christine Chase, who may not choose to ride again.
Enjoy our clip below. One day, I’ll return to the track for a real race. She probably won’t want to come with me.

Glad I didn’t know that. I don’t think I was making anyone sick…just stressed.

Not you darling, it was the fumes from the Red Truck in front of them that was causing the nausea! Now your passenger, who is a regular in the navigator seat at our driving events, normally does pretty well, even with you at the wheel!
