The P&G Makeover–My Look and My Life

If you’ve been following my life lately, you know there’s lots of change going on as I try to ‘move out the old, bad stuff’ to ‘make room for new, great stuff’ (yes, that’s a line from my counselor, whom I’d highly recommend these days).

Something else I’d highly recommend is taking a little time for yourself, and treating yourself to a night with the girls, doing something fun, like, oh, I don’t know, massages, hair styling and make up tips.  And a bunch of laughs.

That’s not something I get to do often.

So, when my pal Stacie, who writes TheDivineMissMommy.com, invited me to a party she was hosting for P&G ‘Have You Tried This Yet?’, I jumped.

When she told me a driver would pick me up and bring me to this downtown Atlanta event, I swooned.

Seriously.

I had the driver put in my latest Michael Buble CD and play it the entire drive down.

We picked up my pal who writes TheMommyInsider.com and joined fellow blogger buddies, including those who write JollyMom.com, FieldtripswithSue.com, AtlantaGreenMom.com, and IntheKitchenwithKP.com.

Procter & Gamble’s “Have You Tried This Yet?” event is part of a multi-brand campaign in the U.S. showcasing innovative P&G products that deliver great value and performance.  All have been introduced within the past 6 to 18 months.

My favorite product of the night was the Cover Girl & Olay Toner & Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation that I’m now addicted to using.

I was already a big fan of the Downy Unstoppables.

I’m also a big fan of the Venus razor, and was given a Venus & Olay razor to take home and sample.  I wish they had let me try it there somewhere because I truly haven’t mastered it still.  It has some kind of honey bar at the top and moisturizer thing at the bottom, but between those two things I’m having a hard time getting the razor to connect to my skin. I’m certain it’s operator error, but I threw out the packaging when I got it home and now I’m confused.  I’ll report back once I figure it out.

We were also joined by Celebrity Stylist Irma Martinez.  Her simple, yet snazzy, fashion advice gave each of us a little extra flair for our summer wardrobes.  She seemed most excited by the new Tide Boost detergent pods…little packets of cleaners that she swears makes colors brighter and whites whiter.  That’s my biggest issue with laundry, so I’m psyched to give those a try, too.

It was great getting to try these cool new products, and the massages were pretty awesome, too, but I have to thank P&G most for reminding me to make time for ME, and getting together face to face with my blogging buddies.  We ‘see’ each other online all the time, but rarely get together IRL (in real life) for fun.

‘Have You Tried This Yet?’ was fun!  Lots of it.

The ride home, listening to Buble, was pretty sweet, too.  I even made a new friend with my driver, who happens to be a Buble fan, as well.

Wins all around.
