Back to School (and College) with BJ’s Wholesale Club
(Note to readers: I was invited by BJ’s PR to attend a tour and brunch/lunch to hear the latest on products. I was given a sampling of gifts, along with a gift card to buy and try items, but was not otherwise compensated and assure you, my opinions remain my own.)
As little ones head back to school across America, so do the big kids, to their dorms and college apartments. Covering the costs of all the ‘must-haves’ for both groups can sneak up on you, but if you have a BJ’s Wholesale Club nearby, you at least have some affordable options to help you check off that list.
You’re going to love some of the cool, new options they have this year.
When it comes to dorms, BJ’s has gone retro, with some pretty awesome looking kitchen gear, from refrigerators to blenders (I know, your kid won’t need a blender, I’m certain of it) to microwaves, all in a popular shade of green—the ‘color of the year’.
They also have eco-collapsible meal kits that both the younger and older kids can use.
And beyond the typical school supplies (yes, they only sell them in massive quantities, but when you have more than one student, you’ll need those massive amounts), you’ll also find fun things like these cool love notes that you can sneak into a lunch box. After all, who doesn’t love hearing how great they are midway through the school day?
You’ll find plenty of food, too, which your college student is going to want you to stock up on before you leave them behind for the year. And the littler ones are going to need nutrition, as well, and you’ll find lots of ideas for healthy breakfasts at BJs.
On my recent trip to review my local BJs, I was hosted to a brunch of strawberries on toasted English muffins with goat cheese (you could use cream cheese, too). Now that’s not your everyday bowl of cereal.
And, once the kids are out the door, you can always kick back and enjoy a glass of wine as you toast to the peace and quiet restored in your home since the summer is over. You’ll be able to find the wine at BJ’s, too.
Cheers to a great school year—and some great bargains.
