Martina McBride is known for her incredible voice and songs from the heart, but the Atlanta community will be remembering her for her love of children and their love of play.
That’s because of “Play Chastain”, a project she’s organized to create an all new, multi-acre, organic, playground and green space inside of Chastain Park, near the amphitheater where Martina will perform on Sept 28.
TeamMartina, the artist’s community service organization, has already raised more than $20,000 on Crowdrise over the last month to be contributed to the Chastain Park Conservancy, the group overseeing construction of Play Chastain.
“Team Martina” will travel to Atlanta from more than 15 states and 2 countries next week for the culmination of the fundraiser.
The new playground will include a handicapped accessible tree house and areas for children of all abilities.
If that’s not enough to get you to contribute to the cause, this might: Martina is giving any fan who donates $15 or $25 to the online fundraiser a chance at winning one of her dresses or a book from her personal collection.
Donations can be made at Crowdrise.com/soundcheckforkids.
Tickets are still available for Martina McBride’s concert at Chastain Amphitheater next week. Go to her tour page for more info at MartinaMcBride.com.
