Money or Sex–Which Would You Pick?
Which would you rather have, money or sex—it’s the question we’ve all heard before but results of a new survey surprised even me.
The survey, conducted by Independent market research firm Toluna, on behalf of BillFloat, Inc., looked at American’s bill payment behavior and found that more than one-third (35 percent) of consumers are struggling to pay their monthly bills either sometimes, often or always.
The survey also found that one quarter (25 percent) of respondents would turn off their TV for an entire month to have someone else pay their bills, while one in five women would abstain from sex for six months (for men that number dropped to 16%). One in five were also willing to give up cell phones and digital devices.
Some even said it would be worth gaining 15 pounds if someone else would pay their bills .
I personally don’t like any of the options, but there’s not much I’d choose to give up willingly. Especially not chocolate.
What would you be willing to give up, if anything, for someone else to pay the bills for a month? Comment below and let me know!
Meantime, the company behind the survey, BillFloat, has launched a sweepstakes to help pay for a year’s worth of bills up to $25,000 for one person. There is no purchase necessary and it is free to enter. Just go to www.billfloat.com/sweepstakes and fill out the entry form to be automatically entered to win (you must be 18 and a US resident). The sweepstakes will run until March 31, 2012.

As the mother of a medically fragile kid with special needs……I’d have to go with the money too. My kid is expensive.

Yeah..and that leads us to the sex FOR money question…maybe another blog someday. 🙂 I hate that it costs so much more to care for a child with special needs…to me, that’s where people should get a break–or anyone with medical issues for that matter. When my dad was dying from cancer it was a challenge to cover medical costs. Nobody should have to decide between paying the mortgage or paying for medicine that will keep you alive another month.

I could easily give up chocolate since I don’t care for it 🙂 Food-wise, I’d have a harder time relinquishing my grip on a bag of tortilla chips! We are a two-income family with minimal bills and good jobs. I’m blessed to say finances are not a concern. Now if only I could get some extra days off work to have some more of the other 😉
