My Last Photo of My Dad–Wordless Wednesday
This week’s Wordless Wednesday is dedicated to my hero, my dad. As far as I know, it’s the last picture taken of him. He was leaving my sister’s wedding reception. She moved the ceremony up so that he could be there. His doctor had told us less than two weeks before that we were running out of time with him. You can’t imagine the heartache we went through as he fought his final days. Tomorrow marks one year since his death. At his service, he asked that we play the song, “I’ll Leave This World Loving You.” And he did. He left it loving so many of us. And we loved him right back. Still do. And miss him more than words can ever express. I suppose that really does make it a Wordless Wednesday.

Thanks Jewel…it means a lot that you thought so much of him. I hope everything is ok up your way. Please give your dad a hug from us and tell him how much Daddy loved him. He really did mean the world to him.

I cannot imagine how you feel. I am very close to my dad. I can’t wait until he comes back up from FL to visit again. When we moved to GA, my parent’s moved to FL. Before that we were 10 min away. It’s so different now and it breaks my heart to not see him every weekend for breakfast when I would let DH sleep in and take the kids over.
I’ll be at least calling him on the way home from the office tonight.

Karen, That’s sweet. I love that you already value your time with him and he for sure knows he is loved.
