Atlanta Mom Makes it to Broadway with StinkyKids Series
An Atlanta mom is making it big on Broadway—as the creator of the book series, Stinky Kids, that has been turned into a musical! Britt Menzies started this concept as a labor of love to her child who wanted her to sketch a picture to hang in her room. Britt created a little character and built on it for neighbors who loved the style and story behind each. The StinkyKids series is about “little stinkers who make right choices.”
One thing led to another, and with a ton of hard work and investing years of time and money, Britt’s work was being sold on t-shirts at Nordstrom’s, and then the characters became available as stuffed dolls. Her first book came out last year and many more items, from scooters to novelty gifts, are following.
The characters, loosely based on Britt’s friends and family, are lovable and always share some life lesson which includes the mantra “always be a leader of good”.
The StinkyKids…the Musical, starts March 10th and will run through April 22nd at the renown Vital Theatre in New York City. You can get tickets at www.vitaltheatre.org or call 212-579-0528.
