How to Apply for a Spot on the Junior Construction Panel
The Master Model Builder and the LEGOLAND Discovery Center team will be looking for two groups of kids, one group of 5-to-8 year olds and another group of 9-to-13 year olds, to serve on its Junior Construction Panel. With a help of a parent or guardian, LEGO lovers and builders between the ages of 5 and 13 can apply by:
- Creating a short news report video (no more than 90 seconds long) telling us why they’re Georgia’s biggest LEGO fan and why you should be on our Junior Construction Panel or describing the LEGO model you have built (must visually show model in video) and uploading it to the Facebook page via a YouTube URL.
- Alternatively you can submit your entry via email by sending your videos’ YouTube URL to AtlantaJCP@legolanddiscoverycenter.com. Note that by submitting the video entry via email, the entrant agrees to it being uploaded by LEGOLAND Discovery Center to the Facebook page.
Entries must be submitted no later than Thursday, February 16, 2012, so get it in soon! The winners will be announced on Tuesday, February 21.
Viewers of the LEGOLAND Discovery Center’s Facebook page will be able to vote in the gallery for entries they deem their favorites, but these votes will not influence the result of the competition in any way.
The children selected to serve on the Junior Construction Panel will receive the royal LEGOLAND Discovery Centre treatment and a seat as a member of the panel for one year, a special “box of imagination,” as well as an Annual Pass for the center, granting them free visits for an entire year.
LEGOLAND Discovery Center Atlanta is a $15 million, 35,000 square-foot interactive attraction and will feature a MINILAND exhibit which recreates landmark buildings in Atlanta out of LEGO bricks, hands-on play areas, a 4D Cinema, master classes from the LEGO Model Builder, LEGO rides and special party rooms for birthdays and other celebrations.
