Remember Your First Valentine? #WordlessWednesday
I found this picture in some old albums my mom had. It’s me, on the back of a hot rod with the first boyfriend I had, Michael Martin. I don’t remember much about him except that he gave me a ring from a Cracker Jack box and his mom and my mom were friends. I think his dad worked for Coca-Cola way back when.
The first Valentine’s gift I got a few years later, in 5th grade, from Mason Smith. He was the best kind of romantic at the young elementary-school age. He used to walk me home from school and even carried my books. I’ll never forget the Valentine’s gift he gave me–a giant Hershey’s Chocolate Kiss wrapped in Kermit the Frog paper.
Can you remember your first Valentine?

you’re such a cutie–I bet you had a first love like that. my daughter was “hooked up” with our neighbor from birth. they’re 3 months apart and I adore his family so it just makes sense that we’ve “arranged” their marriage already. ha!

adorable! and the first valentine I really remember was 3rd grade, Luke McCormick. He decorated cookies for me and brought me a big chunk of chocolate in the shape of “I <3 U". I was kinda embarrassed when I showed it to my parents. He loved me sooooooo….. ha!

I have a photo like this of my youngest daughter where she has chased down and is kissing the boy she was going to marry. He was going to be president and she was going to be queen of the world… ahhh… fun memories. They were about 2 years old at the time.

Don’t you love it? I want to feel that amazing again for just 5 minutes. We should create some “amazing hour” where we all let ourselves believe we couldn’t be any better, any more beautiful, any more amazing. 🙂

Good job on the banner!! I had to completely re-design mine in panic mode one night because it was going to be included in the Ovaltine newsletter for a recipe/giveaway I was hosting for them. I learned a lot but I am by no means an expert!

I have to say, I don’t AT ALL remember my first valentines!!!! It’s not a holiday I really like, I think it’s too fake. We should find romance daily not once per year when it’s almost obligatory.
