Happy Birthday to My Big Sis

It’s my big sisters’s birthday and I’m so glad to have her in my life.

It wasn’t always that way.  We had times, like all sisters I think, where we simply didn’t feel related because we were so different.

But we’ve been through a lot in our four plus decades together and we’re in a good place with each other right now.

We’re friends.

Yes, friends.  I can talk to her about good stuff, bad stuff, and all the stuff in between.  And that makes me really happy.

It also makes me really happy to see her so happy again.  We have her sweet granddaughter to thank for that (it always makes me chuckle to realize she’s a grandma…until I realize that makes me almost old enough to be a grandma, too…that just scares me).  Or course, others in her life make her smile, too, but her grandbaby makes her shine.  She literally lights up around the child.  And that makes me light up, too.

Happy birthday Sis!  Here’s hoping it’s a very good year!
