Eagle Island–Your Own Little Heaven
I’m an island girl. I just love being near the water and swear that it does something for my sanity.
But I’ve never had an island all to myself.
That might soon change now that I know about Eagle Island.
It’s this heavenly little place off the coast of Georgia. You can only get there by boat. Captain Andy, owner of the lodge and the island, will take you himself.
And then, you won’t see any other people your entire visit if that’s the way you want it.
The island is getting one bright spotlight shining on it these days, though, with the selection from The Wall Street Journal as one five islands around the globe and the only one in the US.
The lodge features rustic luxury that includes a hot tub, fireplace, and a 1500 square foot screened in porch. Aaaaahhhhh, right?
Rates start at $400/night, not at all the price you’d expect for the kind of serenity that comes from this kind of peace and beauty.
I haven’t gone yet, but it’s going on my bucket list.
