Peter Pan at Center for Puppetry Arts
If you have never been over to the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, you really should schedule a visit, no matter how old you are. I already know what you parents of older kids are thinking. It’s been ages since you’ve played with puppets and you don’t have a toddler to take anymore.
Well, I think I enjoyed my recent trip to the Center more than my child. That’s because I remember Fraggle Rock, Emmett Otter’s Jug Band Christmas, and so many of Jim Henson’s other famous puppets. They’re all on display at the Center, along with an entire exhibit on how the “real people” behind the puppets were able to make the magic work.
Big Bird is there, too, LIFE-SIZE!!!
We saw a puppet show, too. A really good one. That’s what we were there for, after all. It was all about Peter Pan and we were riveted by the action, sometimes forgetting we were watching puppets.
And we even made our own puppets after the show.
There are different shows throughout the year, so be sure to check the schedule to find out what cool things are in store next.
(Readers note: My daughter and I were invited to the show on behalf of Center for Puppetry Arts. Our opinion remains our own. We will be back again I am certain!)
