Protecting Your Children–From the Sun and More
As the weather gets warmer we start to spend more and more of our time outside and it becomes even more important to make sure our skin is protected.
Did you know there’s a certain way to apply that protection? Neither did I.
I received a container of sunscreen to review recently and with the information I received was a chart about how to apply by zone. I had no idea. It makes perfect sense, but still. How did I not know this all these years?
The sunscreen was sent by Dr. Robin For Kids. Their claim to fame: It is the only Pediatric Dermatologist formulated skincare line out there for babies, children or adults with sensitive skin. The line was created by board certified Dermatologist Dr. Robin Schaffran who specializes in Pediatrics and has been treating parents and children in her Beverly Hills practice for over 10 years. When putting it on my daughter, it reminded me a bit of zinc oxide with its solid white texture.
I was also sent samples of Mayron’s Goods, a line of natural, clean, cruelty-free products loaded with essential oils, vitamins, anti-oxidants, and healing ingredients. They are free of synthetic fragrances, Parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate and DEA. The line was created by Emmy Award winning actress Melanie Mayron and her chemist father. I got to try Ouch Stuff – an all-over certified organic calendula balm that is great for cuts, burns, and bruises. I liked the size that made it easy to throw in my purse and go, knowing it’s there for life’s little emergencies.
Both products reminded me there are safe, pure options for our children and ourselves. Why aren’t we using more of them?
