The Little Pirate Mermaid Wows Crowds at Center for Puppetry Arts
Do you know the pirate password?
Argh, matey! You will after you watch The Little Pirate Mermaid at Atlanta’s Center for Puppetry Arts.
It’s the newest show and your little ones, both girls and boys, are going to love it!
My daughter and I caught the opening day performance and we were both mesmerized by the 40+ puppets, mostly marionettes that appeared to be floating in the gorgeous “underwater” set.
The characters keep young kids laughing with their singing and dancing and, honestly, their fun ways of attacking each other during the battle scenes.
The show is lots of fun, and it gets better and better as the story unfolds, especially when they get to the scene with the squid.
The Center for Puppetry Arts outdid itself on this one.
The Little Pirate Mermaid runs through July 15th. You can find out more at www.puppet.org.
Don’t forget to make a marionette after the show! It’s a bonus feature of the visit and super simple for all age groups.
(Note to readers: My daughter and I were invited by the promotions company working with Center for Puppetry Arts and our admission to the show was waived. Our opinions remain our own.)
