At the Airport, #ConnectingFlights
I’m such a people watcher and my favorite place to do this is in airports.
You know what I mean, right?
You can just sit in one place for hours and watch an entire slew of emotions in minutes.
Lovers kissing goodbye. Parents thrilled to be reuniting with their children, no matter what the age. Business people speed walking their way to the next gate.
I think it’s a blast to make up stories about where they’re going and what they’ll do there. Strange little hobby, sure, but it’s a lot of fun if you’re sitting with someone else, just trying to pass the time between flights.
I remember one time I actually made a friend doing exactly this. It was in London and we both had way too much time before our next flight. He sat next to me by the walkway and it wasn’t long before we were commenting on someone’s funky hair or odd attire. Then we started the guessing game. We did this until we boarded our flight. I was glad to have made the bond with him when our flight was landing late at its next destination since we still had another leg of the trip to get home to Atlanta and were going to barely make the flight. He was great about running ahead to the gate to let them know we were on our way and I actually made it home that night instead of missing the flight and ending up sleeping in an airport that night!
I’d say that was a great connection to make, wouldn’t you?
Have you ever made a cool connection at an airport?
Check out the #ConnectingFlights video below that Sears has created. This one is good enough that I wish there was an entire movie to go with it. Fun stuff!
