Back to BJ’s Wholesale Club for the Holidays
With a family of six, holidays can be expensive…just the groceries can really make a dent in the budget. I used to try to save money by shopping at the big warehouse clubs, like BJ’s Wholesale Club, but after several trips I realized I was buying bundles of goods (leading up to way too much of that particular product), and not enough of others (which ended up being items I really needed). I had to stop going for a bit.
Then, I happened to be invited to a recent press event where BJ’s was showing off all they had to offer for the holidays and was surprised by all that had changed in the few years since I’d shopped there.
For one, they now offer individual sizing for certain items. Woo hoo! That means I don’t have to stockpile salad dressing or soup for a year to get a real value.
They also now offer Organic products. One of the biggest complaints most people have about buying the organic option for their families is the price difference from traditional products. BJ’s offers a ton of different Organic products at the wholesale price.
BJ’s also accepts coupons. When you’re a member, they mail out a coupon booklet that offers some great savings (we’re talking dollars here, not dimes), but you can also use manufacturer coupons at BJ’s. I plan to give this a whirl on my next shopping trip.
Oh, and here’s another thing: you don’t have to go to the store anymore. You can go online and pick out what you need! The stores offer thousands of products. Online you can get thousands more. That could certainly make shopping more stress-free. And they often offer free shipping. Right now they have free shipping as an option for TVs and entertainment systems. Who doesn’t love the idea of that?
And here’s a fun new fact, too. They offer cakes from the Cake Boss. As a dessert-lover, they’re speaking to my heart now. I don’t know how they’ll keep me out of there this time.
(Note to readers: BJ’s invited me to their holiday fun event and gave each attendee a bag of fun products, along with a $25 gift card. As always, my opinion remains my own.)
