Watching Movies Before They are Released–My Cool Discovery
Did you know you can actually BUY movies on your computer before they come out in theaters?
I get that when it comes to technology, I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I had no idea!
I’m eagerly awaiting several movies set to release on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, and when I saw a quick ad for one on iTunes this morning (which I was only on trying to update my daughter’s iPod), I couldn’t believe that it offered a purchase option.
So I clicked through.
And you know what? It honest to goodness allowed me to click on through and purchase the movie I was waiting to see–The Sessions–a good two weeks before it’ll be out in theaters!!
I bought the standard def version (I don’t need HD for my personal viewing pleasure) for about $12! That’s not much more than I’d have to pay at a theater for a single ticket. And now, I can watch it whenever I want, from the comfort of my own home. And yes, I like the movie theater experience, but there’s also something to be said for being able to relax in my pj’s, not having to drive anywhere, or having to pay $15 for popcorn and a drink.
I’m not sure if you can do it with any movie, but I’m just giddy over the discovery that it’s an option with any movie that’s not six months old.
Who knew?
If you did, be sure to tell me below, and let me know what else I’m missing in my non-tech mind.
