JW Marriott at The Grande Lakes–The Adult Place to Stay in Orlando
It may be hard to believe, but it’s possible for some people to get a little too much of the magic when bringing their family to The Magic Kingdom in Orlando, and when they know that could happen, they look for a place to stay that will remove them a step or two from all that fun.
The JW Marriott Orlando at The Grande Lakes is a gorgeous option.
I stayed there for a few nights while recently taking part in Disney’s Princess ½ Marathon.
My family wasn’t with me and I knew I didn’t need to be surrounded by the parks 24/7.
The JW Marriott was the perfect alternative.
In fact, I spent one entire day in Orlando and never stepped foot on Disney grounds. That’s a first for me.
Not that there’s anything wrong with the Disney resorts…they’re wonderful. But I needed something a little different on this trip.
And I found it, with everything from the delicious restaurants that offered a variety of dining options to the relaxing comforts of the Ritz Carlton Spa (the JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton are connected and share amenities at Grande Lakes).
The special touches the hotel staff left made me feel extra cared for on my visit.
From the lazy river in the pool to the kids club suite, it felt like a place adults would appreciate while kids could still find a thrill.
Looking out my lakefront room window, I was still able to see all of Orlando’s highlights, from the Epcot ball to Sea World’s roller coaster, but with a beautiful preserve between us, I felt more a part of natural wonder than man-made amusement.
It was a welcome bit of peace during a whirlwind trip.
(Note to Readers: I was hosted by the JW Marriott during my stay for Disney’s Princess 1/2 Marathon. As always my opinion remains my own.)
