Awesome Holiday Flats Provide Comfort and Cheer–#VionicShoes Review
The holidays are all about bright lights and shiny ornaments, and that bright and shiny theme can carry over to your shoes, too, as you head from party to party celebrating the season.
But there’s no rule that says you have to wear mile-high-heels during all the festivities.
In fact, if you want to last, flats could make a lot more sense. Just look at the outfit I designed above…something I think can go from day to night pretty easily…and you’ll still be cruising along comfortably. (This is the part where I shamelessly ask that you pin that look on Pinterest to help me spread the word about getting through the holiday without twisting an ankle in heels…working from home all these years has made me prone to injuries when I attempt the high-heel outings.)
I was recently sent a pair of Vionic flat ballet slippers (the exact ones you see in the image below) to review and couldn’t believe a shoe company was able to finally combine comfort and beauty in a shoe. They asked me to design the look around the shoe and I think I’ve done a pretty good job, considering my daughter is the actual fashionista in this family.
The Vionic brand mixes style with science in these podiatrist-designed shoes, using Orthaheel biomechanical technology. According to the creator, “Vionic footwear restores the foot’s natural (neutral) alignment, enabling the feet, ankles and legs to function as efficiently and dynamically as they were intended. Integrative medicine expert, Andrew Weil, M.D., touts the Orthaheel technology and praises Vionic’s mission to improve health through proper foot support, thus enabling more people to achieve an active lifestyle.”
Translation: these shoes look AND feel good.
I tried out the flats, but there are also wedges, demi-wedges and platform sandals (and by the way, they’re the only sandals recommended by both the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and renowned integrative medicine doctor, Andrew Weil, MD.)
The Vionic with Orthaheel Technology footwear collection ranges in price from $89.95 to $139.95 and is available online at www.vionicshoes.com, as well as Zappos.com, Belk, Dillards and select retailer stores across North America (the pair I found and featured below was listed under Amazon).
I particularly like these because they’re also ideal for travel, something I hope to do plenty of of this holiday season. And again, I think the look below works for that, too, whether you need to be casual or dressy on the go.
