Summer Events at Georgia Aquarium–Something for Everyone
The Georgia Aquarium is always a fun place to take the family, whether you’re from Atlanta or not, and this summer there’s an incredible price promotion underway, along with an idea for a fun date night.
The discount is good until June 13th, so you really need to move fast for that one. It’s a $6 savings, making the price of adult admission just $29.95 plus tax. It’s about a 17% savings. They’re calling it the Southern Hospitality Discount and residents of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida are eligible. You can’t get the deal online. You just have to show a valid ID at the ticketing window to receive the special pricing.
Another way to see the aquarium at a discount is to go at night.
This summer, if you visit the aquarium after 6pm Monday thru Saturday, you’ll get admission to all six galleries, Deepo’s Undersea 3D Wondershow and Sea Monsters Revealed: Aquatic Bodies, all for $21.95 (plus tax) each, no matter what your age. Certain dates are excluded—those include June 11, 26, July 1-5, 22 and 24th.
If you can make it to the aquarium without kids, you may want to check out SeaNights. It’s a chance to see the aquarium after hours…and it’s only for adults. The next event is set for June 26th from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Only adults 21 and up can participate. The idea is to allow you to enjoy beer, wine and appetizers in an inspirational and romantic setting.
Tickets are $46.95 per person, or $25 for members, and include admission to six permanent galleries, the traveling exhibit “Sea Monsters Revealed: Aquatic Bodies,” appetizers and two drink tickets. A cash bar will also be available. Tickets are available online.
There’s also World Oceans Day Celebration from June 5-8 at the Aquarium. Activities include the following (this information is copied directly from the Aquarium email blast):

On top of all of this, there are all kinds of other amazing opportunities at the aquarium.
My family recently took the behind-the-scenes tour and got to witness something amazing: the feeding of the whale sharks.
This only happens twice a day, so if you do the tour behind the scenes, be sure to time it right for feeding time!
