#PwP Holiday Gear for Traveling with Kids: Passports with Purpose Prize Pack
We all know babies need a lot of stuff, and that doesn’t stop when we’re traveling. Well, imagine a high chair you can store in your diaper bag! And, wouldn’t it be nice if you could just roll your child’s car seat through the airport–with them in it? How about a kit to keep your toddler busy no matter where you travel?
Well, those products exist, thanks to great companies like Joovy, Britax and Travel Kiddy. And those great companies also have a big ole’ heart, giving generously to our Passports with a Purpose prize pack (in partnership with my pal Sue Rodman at FieldtripswithSue.com.
Joovy is donating the Hook portable high chair, a $79.99 value. It features deluxe leatherette fabric on an anodized aluminum frame that’s strong, but super lightweight. In fact, it can hold a child up to 37 pounds! You just click two buttons and fold the two arms out to set it up. Then secure the child with the adjustable 3-point harness. The Hook even includes a zippered travel bag with an adjustable shoulder strap and fits in most diaper bags.
Britax is contributing a Britax Frontier Combination 2-Harness Booster Seat and a Britax Travel Cart. The Frontier seat features an energy-absorbing foam liner that absorbs and distributes forces during a crash. The True Side Impact Protection contains the head and body and keeps the head, neck and spine aligned to limit injury. The safety record is what sells these seats, but the other features like the durable and washable cover and the Harness-2-Booster that converts to a belt-positioning booster seat are like the icing on the cake. It’s valued at $279.99.
The Travel Cart features a durable steel frame design you can attach your car seat to with the special LATCH connectors that click to confirm they’re secure. It has easy-glide wheels and you can even harness your child into the seat while rolling it for short travel distances—ideal for a busy airport that can otherwise seem impossible when you have a rambunctious toddler in tow. It also folds up and stows easily in most airplane overhead compartments. It’s valued at $79.99.
We also have a TravelKiddy package. The Essentials Activity Kit is filled with fun things to keep travelers busy—along with tissues, wipes and bandaids for minor travel incidents. For long trips, there’s a TravelKiddy Activity Kit. The pre-school activity kit is packed with activities to keep restless 3-5 year olds entertained. It includes lacing cards, travel friendly crafts, stickers, a magnetic maze game and more! It even includes a separately packaged Return Pack with new activities for the trip home.
On top of all that, we also have a LeapPad3 as part of the prize package. The LeapPad3 is a high-performance Wi-Fi tablet for children ages 3-9 years old. It was built kid-tough and thoroughly drop tested, so no worries when the cousins start fighting over it and it drops. With over 1,000 games and apps, you can access LeapFrog’s learning library of educational games, eBooks, videos and more.
The total prize package is valued at approximately $700.
Remember, this is part of the Passports with Purpose campaign. Passports with Purpose oversees this annual event to raise money for a different charity partner each year. This year, the charity partner is Sustainable Harvest International, and the money raised will help support their work in Honduras.
Since 1997,Sustainable Harvest International has worked in Honduras to help families improve degraded land, grow their own food, and learn how to prevent tropical deforestation from logging and slash-and-burn agriculture practices.
Each $5,000 raised through this year’s Passports with Purpose campaign can help Sustainable Harvest International nourish a family and community in Honduras for five years.
