Fixing My Computer Errors–The ChicaPC-fix Review and GIVEAWAY!
You know how sometimes a drain gets clogged and it can take forever for the water to drain, but once the clog is clear the water just disappears? Well, that’s how I’d describe what was going on with my computer—for months!
I’d turn it on and wait for everything to load up so that I could get to work. Then I’d wait, and wait, and wait some more. Sometimes this would be a 20 minute process. Sometimes it took even longer. It was like the information was clogged up in the computer drain, so to speak. It would finally come on if I waited patiently (and I’m not a very patient person).
Then, after it would power up and I’d get knee deep into five different projects (don’t we all multi-task on our computers?), darned if it didn’t just shut down in the middle of all of it. Just like that. Everything gone. Blue screen, black screen, error messages I couldn’t decipher.
My husband kept telling me I was wasting my time and should take it to the Geek Guys or some other guru capable of cleaning it all out to make it speedier. I explained that I couldn’t be without my computer for several hours, or even worse, days. And I was afraid…what if they erased something I really needed by accident? I was too afraid to fix the problem, yet incredibly frustrated living with it.
Then I met the folks at ChicaPC-fix—totally by accident. I ended up next to Leticia Barr on an airplane. She’s a tech savvy mama (that’s actually the name of her web site even, www.TechSavvyMama.com). I was explaining my computer headaches and my anxiety over doing anything that might mess up all my different data. I didn’t realize she would hold the answer to all my PC problems.
She told me about the ChicaPC-fix and explained it was just that—a fix—and a simple one at that. I argued that it might delete things that I still need. She told me it doesn’t work like that. I explained that I couldn’t afford to have my computer down for days. She told me it wouldn’t be. I reiterated that my computer wasn’t really broken—just slow—and she promised this would make it faster. I decided to think about it (sorry, I’m a skeptic, not quickly sold on such simple fixes).
After returning home and having multiple shutdowns in days, I emailed my new plane pal and asked for more info. She sent me a code to try the ChicaPC-fix. I followed the super simple instructions (remember, I’m the total opposite of tech savvy), and within minutes discovered I had more than 2500 computer errors on my poor PC. Ouch. No wonder it was limping along. And with the simple click of a button and a few minutes of watching and waiting (and hoping all my info didn’t disappear into a mysterious black hole), it was fixed. Really. Just like that.
It’s been nearly two weeks. My computer powers right up and runs so much faster now. It’s like the clog is gone and the water is running freely again. It gives me little updates every now and then, letting me know my computer is healthy again. In fact, my computer’s health is “very good”. I feel guilty for not taking care of it sooner. But now, I can run more scans as often as I want and get rid of anything else making it sick.
Now, it’d be great if they can come up with something that works just as well on my drains.

2500 errors?!? Ouch indeed! So glad the tech gods were with us that day when they sat us next to each other on the plane even if we were a little loud and getting shushed by our fellow passengers!

I think the actual number was 2714 issues. That’s pretty bad, huh? Yes, so glad we ended up next to each other, and sad that even the guy 3 rows up told me I needed to get my computer fixed. Too funny!

Last year my computer got a virus and crashed. I had a ton of pictures on it that were not printed out yet. Luckily they were able to retrieve them for me otherwise I would be missing the first year of my youngest son’s life.
