Atari is back–on the iPad! Review and GIVEAWAY!
When I bought my iPad I had no idea how much time it would spend in the hands of my children on road trips, around the house or while we’re waiting for, well, just about everything. Let’s just put it this way—my six year old expects Santa to be bringing an iPad just for her this holiday season (not happening in this house!). We’ll be sharing the one iPad I own for a good while, so we like to find games that everyone can enjoy when we’re looking for apps.
One recent discovery: Atari Arcade. We didn’t find it on our own. The PR rep for Discover Bay Games told me about it, offering to send one along for my family to give a try. We had no idea just how cool it was until it arrived at our house.
The Atari Arcade transforms the iPad into its own little video game machine. You slide your iPad into the base and, voila!, you have a mini-Atari game system, complete with controller.
Just as I predicted, my husband liked it best, but the kids are right behind him. If you have an iPad, you may want to check this out. It’s available at Target and Apple stores for $60. There are other games that work with the iPad, too (Duo Pop and Duo Plink). They’re all pretty neat for a night of family fun, but the Atari options are endless (and really good at taking you back to your own childhood, too!).
And guess what? Discovery Bay Games is letting us give one of these systems away to one lucky reader. So, please comment below with your favorite Atari game (if you can remember that far back!). If not, tell us what game your family prefers to play. You have until midnight EST on December 18th to enter. We’ll draw the winner’s name at random on December 19th.
(Note to readers: I am now part of the Duo Mom Blog Network, or the Duo 50. I was not paid for this review and the opinions are my own.)

My favorite game on Atari was Asteroids. Pitfall was pretty cool, too.
